Every stylish text style you copy, like 𝓝𝓪𝓶𝓮 or ℕ𝕒𝕞𝕖, has a real name. Knowing it helps you find the same style again, ask for it by name, and understand why one style works on Instagram while another shows boxes.
Below are all 68 styles our name font style generator is built from: 23 letter styles, 11 effects, and 34 decorations. Each one includes an example, the font look it copies, and the official Unicode name for its characters, which we pulled from the Unicode character database ourselves.
What is a font style name?
A font style name is the label for one look of text, such as Bold Script, Gothic, or Bubble. In copy-paste generators, each style is a set of look-alike Unicode characters, not a real font, so the name describes the look rather than a font file.
That is the main difference from design fonts like Arial or Times New Roman. Those are font files installed on a device. The styles on this page are characters, which is why they keep their look when you paste them into an app that does not let you change fonts.

Effects: 11 names with examples
Effects add marks on top of normal letters, or between them, instead of swapping the letters.
| Style name | Example | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Strike Through | N̶a̶m̶e̶ | A line through each letter (combining long stroke overlay) |
| Slashed | N̸a̸m̸e̸ | A slash through each letter |
| Underline | N̲a̲m̲e̲ | A line under each letter (combining low line) |
| Double Underline | N̳a̳m̳e̳ | Two lines under each letter |
| Overline | N̅a̅m̅e̅ | A line over each letter |
| Wavy Line | N̴a̴m̴e̴ | A wavy line through the letters |
| Hearts Between | N♥a♥m♥e | A heart between each letter |
| Stars Between | N☆a☆m☆e | A star between each letter |
| Spaced Out | N a m e | A space between each letter |
| Glitch | N̘̍̎a̤̎̿m̞̄̐e̙̅̍ | Several marks stacked above and below, also called zalgo text |
| Upside Down | ǝɯɐu | Letters flipped and written backwards |
Effects add extra characters, so they make a name much longer. Glitch adds three marks to every letter, which quickly breaks short limits like a 12-character game name.

Which font style names work best on Instagram, WhatsApp and games?
Choose by where the name will appear. Simple letter styles work almost everywhere; rare decorations and effects are more likely to break or run over a length limit.
| Where | Best style names | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram name and bio | Bold Script, Double Struck, Sans Bold, Small Caps | Glitch, which can look messy in the bold name field |
| WhatsApp name | Bold Script, Bold, Bubble | Long decorations; the name allows 25 characters |
| Free Fire and BGMI | Black Square, Bold Gothic, Ninja or Crown decorations | Effects and Glitch, which eat the 12-character Free Fire limit |
| Readable everywhere | Bold, Sans Bold, Small Caps | Tribal, Asian Look and Greek Look for names people must read |
The name font style generator has a length check for each of these apps, so you can see whether a style fits before you copy it.
Why do some style names look broken in some apps?
Usually because a few letters live in a different part of Unicode. In Double Struck, Script and Gothic, some capitals were added to Unicode years before the rest, so they sit in another block. For example, ℕ in ℕ𝕒𝕞𝕖 is the older “double-struck capital N”, while 𝕒𝕞𝕖 come from the newer mathematical block. A careless generator leaves those letters blank; ours maps every letter, but an old phone font may still miss a few.
Two honesty notes help here. First, Asian Look uses real Chinese characters picked for their shape, so a Chinese reader sees random words, not your name. Second, styled letters are not read well by screen readers, so keep a plain version of your name somewhere if accessibility matters.
How do I find a style by its name?
Type the name in the Find a style box on the name font style generator, for example “gothic” or “bubble”, and only matching styles appear. You can also filter by Cute, Cool, Gaming, Cursive, Bold, Gothic, Bubble, Aesthetic, Effects or Devotional.
To understand the design side of these names, such as what makes a font serif or script, read types of font styles explained.
